5 Top Events in London this Summer

Updated: Mar 25, 2019

Summer festival season is in full swing, have a look at our top picks for upcoming and more alternative events.

1. elrow Town London 18th August 2018 -

Like a mirage rising from the shores of the Thames in East London, elrow Town is an oddity, an anomaly, a sanctuary for the outcasts. It shouldn’t be here, and yet, it fits perfectly in place. Deeply secret, this gated community will throw its doors open to the public for just two days of the year on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August. We invite you to enter and immerse yourself in its culture, its festivities and its lifestyle. An array of oddball characters, zany party games, inflatable toys, theatrical skits, giant puppets, booming sound systems and a whole lot of confetti awaits.

3. We Still Believe Shoreditch Street Party - 4 Aug 2018

For our second street party of the year, we’re teaming up with one of our absolute favourites, THE BLACK MADONNA, and bringing back her We Still Believe show to London. In Marea’s own words: Hold onto your sunglasses, London. I’m going to let you in on a little secret that I have been dying to tell you. We had such a fantastic time at my first We Still Believe at York Hall. I thought we can’t wait longer. We need another dance. So I got together with krankbrother again to bring you something special, something with summer vibes for all the sunshine people.

4. Anjunadeep Open Air London - 12 Aug 2018

In August 2018 we present our first ever festival - Anjunadeep Open Air: London.

We’ve taken our Anjunadeep events around the world in recent years, with sell-out shows at some of the finest clubs in North America and Europe, along with unique outdoor parties at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State, the waters of New York’s East River, and our spiritual home of Anjuna Beach in Goa.

On Sunday August 12th we take over one of East London’s best kept secrets - the secluded Three Mills Island, nestled between Stratford and Bow, surrounded by the winding River Lea and set against a historic industrial backdrop. Expect a day of beautiful music, street food, cocktail bars, bespoke production, and one of the best festival crowds in the world.

5. Butterfly Effect Festival 28-29 July

Welcome to The Butterfly Effect Festival – A two-day ticketed music festival showcasing some of the best of what garage, house music and Urban beats has to offer, including top UK artists.

Croydon has always been at the heart of the UK music industry and we feel it is now time to truly celebrate and pay homage to one of music’s most influential places. The city is home to The Brits School, which has honed and trained artists like Amy Winehouse and Adele, including emerging talent such as Stormzy, Krept & Konan and Big Shaq, who have managed to cultivate an international following, right on the streets of Thornton Heath.

We call the festival “The Butterfly Effect” because we believe small causes truly do have larger effects. Through the festival, we aim to inspire and create opportunities to grow with many music generations to come.
